On March 1 st , 1997, the Angel Ramos Foundation Science and Visitor Center was inaugurated.
Over 85,000 visitors are welcomed each year to the Educational and Visitor Center which
includes an exhibit hall with interactive exhibits and informative panels related to astronomy,
physics and atmospheric sciences. Visitors also enjoy a spectacular view of the 1,000 feet
diameter dish from the observation deck and a visit to the Galaxy Shop, where you can find
souvenirs, educational games and other science related products.

The Arecibo Observatory, is a national research center operated by UCF University of Central
